Thing #23

Wow, I can't believe I made it! This has been an awesome experience and a challenging one at times, too. This program has afforded me to take the time to learn about some of the new technologies that you hear about in passing conversations with people. Now some of the terms such as wikis, podcast, utube, blogging, etc. are no longer mystery words.

I would definitely do this again!

Thing #22

Okay, I'm one step closer to getting my prize. I listened to the tutorial, created my NetLibrary account, and familiarized myself with the site. I can't wait to download my first eaudio to my MP3 player.

Thing #21

I subscribed to Yahoo Podcast and searched around for some interesting Library pods. I came across a SirsiDynix podcast which is the company that provides the software and support that our system uses for circulation, cataloging, serials and our HIP.

Thing #20

What a wonderful song

My son introduced me to this band (Slightly Stoopid). I think I like their version of the song almost as much at the original by John Denver, and no this is not my son.

Thing #19

I perused the award winners and was amazed at some the sites available. I found three that I explored and would most like use again. 1. Kayak: another Expedia or Cheap Flights. 2. Cocktail Builder: A good resource for bartending(imagine that). 3: Yelp: A fun and easy way to find what's great or not go great in your area.

Thing #18

Watch out Microsoft! I think this will be a great option for people who want to share documents. All of Zoho apps look very similar to Microsoft Office products.

Thing #17

Woohoo, now I'm having fun! I didn't want to leave the sandbox and had to pry myself away from playing with my pbwiki that I created. I added several entries to the favorites in the PBwiki Learning 2.0.

Thing #16

Now this is something that I find very useful. Although when I named my blog, I was doing so purely on a technology that began with "W". Who knew Wikiz would be my favorite and most useful thing I've learned so far. I explored all links and added Wikipedia as a zippy link on my blog.

Thing #15

After reading several of the postings I set my sites on "Away from Iceburgs" and Into the World of Libraianship". Currently, both these topic appeal/apply to what is going on at LCPL. We are ever looking to improve and provide better, faster services for our customers. Let's face it we are of a society of want and need it ASAP.

Thing #14

I explored thing 14 and claimed by blog on Technorati, now what? I really don't see that this will be a valuable tool for me at this time. Maybe after I finish all 23 things I will go back and explore the technologies that I do not have a clear understanding.
